Participants apply the principles of structural engineering to design and construct a structure that complies with the annual challenge. An assessment of the required documentation and the destructive testing of the structure (to determine its design efficiency) determine both semifinalists and finalists.

Verification Form: https://tsaweb.org/docs/default-source/competitions/themes-and-problems-2024-2025/hs-structural-verification-form.pdf?sfvrsn=dfee5b2b_1
Students will need their Participant ID number, and password, from their advisor. Only the team captain will be able to upload the file.
Students submit structural drawing(s) and photos of test structures, as a multi-page PDF document.
NOTE: Students will only receive judge feedback if they submit detailed structural drawings, and clear photos. Otherwise, it will just be a check-off.
Students submit pre-built structure and portfolio on first evening. Prelim testing will occur second day, and a semifinalist list will be posted.
Semifinalists build another structure onsite on third day.
